Leap represents an entirely new way to interact with your computers. It’s more accurate than a mouse, as reliable as a keyboard and more sensitive than a touchscreen. For the first time, you can control a computer in three dimensions with your natural hand and finger movements.
This isn’t a game system that roughly maps your hand movements. The Leap technology is 200 times more accurate than anything else on the market — at any price point. Just about the size of a flash drive, the Leap can distinguish your individual fingers and track your movements down to a 1/100th of a millimeter.
This is like day one of the mouse. Except, no one needs an instruction manual for their hands.
JWT Brazil have turned mundane into fundane (sorry) by incentivising the filling in of timesheets WITH BEER!
It seems that the entire agency has to have completed their timesheets for the fridge to open, but would you want to be the one man (ow woman) that stands between an entire agency and their beer?
Either way… I love it. Can’t wait to install one in my office. Not sure I’ll bother with the locking mechanism though.
What an epic way to start the week.
Not only did Sunday night take us to the far ends of the Earth… nay, universe with the latest trailer in Ridley Scott‘s eagerly anticipated Aliens prequel Prometheus but yesterday Christopher Nolan blessed us with tension building teaser for the last instalment of the Dark Knight trilogy, TheDark Knight Rises.
And here they both are:
Prometheus – International launch trailer
This was probably one of the most effectively publicised trailer releases I have ever witnessed, mainly thanks to Zeebox (your TV sidekick). To rally support for both the upcoming film and TV’s rapidly growing social partner, Zeebox, they ran a ticket giveaway awarding a lucky few Tweeters that hashtagged #AreYouWatchingThis and #Zeebox during the initial airing of the trailer on Channel4. By the looks of things on Twitter it would appear hundreds tuned in not to watch Showtime’s new hit TV series Homeland but instead to sit through the ads (WIN!).
The Dark Knight Rises – Trailer #3
And if you thought it couldn’t get any better, Nolan releases more footage of the legendary Dark Knight, featuring more explosion, more characters, more plot and more atmosphere than a basketball match against real Bears and Raptors.
If you were to ask me, which you didn’t but you’re getting it anyway. I think he gave away a little too much, especially that last little snippet (if you haven’t got there yet, don’t ruin it for yourself). It also helped reassure me that despite Bane having only a fraction of his titan based body, Tom Hardy is still going to make him an enemy to remember AND that Anne Hathaway will indeed make a shit Catwoman.
(Thanks to @VickyHinault for the Dark Knight trailer)
Apologies for a quick post, I am currently holidaying in Spain and there is a small group of old people that are just about to have their ace handed to them on the tennis court (see what I did there?).
Anyway, look… You can get a joystick for your iPad.
Oh yes, I’ve decided to refer to any device supporting such awesome retro mechanics as a JiPad, it would have been Joypad but they already exist.
So here is more information and links to purchase from ThinkGeek.

Cogoo, are a Japanese bike lending/hiring/giving company… Well I don’t know, I heard they did clever things with bikes and technology, slightly similar to London’s Barclays Bikes… But then I saw something that no floppy haired moyoron could ever accomplish:

On February 14th (or… ‘Valentines Day’) you can join the queue to take your turn blowing the shit out of the classic Twisted Metal Ice Cream truck.
The script is as excellent as I assume the budget was. This seems to be a no holes barred twisted blow out and honestly… I could not have wished for a better Valentines present.
I also stumbled across this beautifully romantic video from Twisted Metal’s own Sweet Tooth:
Strangely it seems to have noting to do with the Shoot My Truck campaign. But it still looks amazing, creates a great atmosphere and is kinda funny.
Whilst trawling through tumblr yesterday, I noticed a post from Laughing Squid that made me stop and reflect. It was a series of photos from British photographer Jasper James. This particular project focused on city skylines that were partially visible through silhouettes. I think it is a very clever idea with some extremely beautiful executions.
Here are some of my faves…

The lastest Sony update you’ve not been waiting for will be released on February 12 2012 and it shall be known as Vita!
Turns out though, that this new model may be a little more than a remake of the shoddy Game Gear their previous PSP offering led us to believe.
Amongst the, now pretty bog standard internet integration, they may have done something quite exciting… AR!
Yeah it’s not new and a lot of you may even be bored of hearing that two letter combination. But if this new vid is anything to go by, the hand held capabilities and the evolution of AR could lead to some pretty cool stuff (that may well get boring within a few days).
Look at it!
Augmented Reality is one of the directions open to PlayStation Vita developers and it was announced that six Augmented Reality markers will be available at launch, with three games available to download for free from PlayStation Store. To see how these are going to be used, we saw this AR technology video.

A lovely little idea, using tiny shoes and some handy POV.
