United State of Pop 2011

DJ Earworm has done it again. The annual mash-up master is back with the latest in the United State of Pop collection.

United State of Pop 2011

Not nearly as good as his 2009 rendition, but maybe it’s because instead of just disliking each terrible excuse for a track I now despise them to the point of actual eye bleeding. Aside from that, it is another smoothly edited and expertly crafted singular piece of music.

P.S. Check the T at 1:10.
Thanks to MusicLover5683 for pointing that one out.

Oh and Happy Friday everyone.

Portal goes A Capella

Portal was one of my favourite games, not least for the amazing song awarded to any player committed enough to finish this addictive puzzler.  A kin to such concluding greats as ‘Burn The Rope‘ and ‘Plants VS Zombies‘, the track that plays over the credits is a run down of everything you’ve just experienced.  I think ‘Burn The Rope’ may be a parody of this, but I’m not sure.

Anyway, Portal 2 is due to be released this April and to celebrate, here’s Basix with an A Capella version of the aforementioned credits classic.

iTomic Tom

I may be a little late on the uptake, but this is so far up my street it’s past old Jonesy at 268b.

‘Sorry about the noise Jonesy, but did you realise this was all performed and recorded on a variety of iPhone’s?’

‘What do you mean what’s an iPhone?  It’s a bit like a telegram but it doesn’t suck balls.’

Anyway, here’s Atomic Tom performing their hit ‘Take Me Out” on a NYC train:

Daft Punk create a legacy

Excellent track, cool video, awesomely edited and a brilliant cameo:

Here is a music video from the up coming movie TRON LEGACY, featuring original music by Daft Punk and a cameo of them. There is also a cameo of Michael Sheen in this clip looking like some crazy cool David Bowie from the Tron world.

TRON: LEGACY hits U.S. theaters on Dec. 17, 2010 in Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D.

OkGo White Knuckles

Yesterday morning the sex God that isn’t, Ellen Denegenereseres show cased OkGo’s new musical triumph.  Well… as we all know their tracks actually don’t seem to rocket up the pop charts but their viral videos are always the latest and greatest to hit the internet.

Their latest offering, ‘White Knuckles’ seems to be the strangest music incarnation so far.  Introduced as ‘OK GO AND FRIENDS’, this video takes the cool, effortlessly flowing style that they have become famous for in their previous videos and adds dogs.  This is just what the veterinarian surgeon ordered:
